I'M GOING TO BE A VOLUNTEER AGAIN FOR NEW YORK COMIC CON! Hello, NYCC Crew of 2013!

Seriously, I am excited. I love volunteering at cons. This is how I met Kate and made a anothe bunch of friends. This also means I have a free ticket to the con itself. I just have not wear my Volunteer t-shirt when I'm just looking at the con.

I applied for a higher volunteer position. I haven't received  any info on that. I've sent ink then my paperwork. It only took a few minutes since nothing has changed. (FYI We volunteers get paid to do the job. It's a nice bonus) Now I just have to think whether I want to cosplay this at NYCC

I mean, I'm. starting my search of Ace's Jacket (DW) to cosplay her in the future. (I found a website with the jacket but i want to look in stores first) have reference pictures and such. The hardest part will most likely be the embroidery and the patches. Uuuugh, I suck at those! I can barely sew. (I dare not ask the grandmother because she will not want to or ruin the jacket or ask why I want such an ugly thing put on the jacket) Some of the pins are easy. (Thank god for the DW cosplay community and their Ace break down)

That's AWESOME! I hope you get the higher position; that would also look so stellar on a resume!

I want to make cosplay outfits so bad. where is the time?!

Excellent! Good luck with the jacket and patches. Sewing on patches isn't too bad. You can do it in a quick and dirty way as well. Plus if they're iron-on, then even easier!

So sorry for the late reply!

I'm by no means a sewing expert so definitely do some research on this. What I meant was that you can get away with sewing stitches on only parts of the patch. For example, if the patch is a square, you can sew stitches in each corner rather than around the entire patch. If it's a circle, pick three or four spots evenly placed around the circumference and sew it on there. You will need to make the stitches strong, meaning that you'll need to pass the thread through the material at least five times (probably more if you want them to really hold).

I've done this to temporarily keep patches in place or when I just want to see how they'll. If you only really need them for a weekend, then ironing them on and stitching them in strategic areas will probably get the job done. But as I said, I am definitely not an expert and you might find people who know their stuff telling you otherwise. If so, definitely take their advice over mine.

Good luck!
